FORTSCHRITT was established in 1988 as a full-fledged Engineering Company with the above goal in mind, our main focus, for now, is the provision of high-quality Computer products and services, including maintenance and installation of Networks, that meet all international standards.

Who Are WE?

Meet some of our people here at FORTSCHRITT ENGINEERS Limited

Deji Demuren (Prof.) – Chairman

He is a professor of Mechanical Engineering at Old Dominion University (ODU), Virginia, USA. He is an engineer who is also an authority in the I.T. industry, having at various times been a member of the council of the Computer Center in a number of Universities. He was a member of the council in the University of Ibadan, University of Lagos, and now at ODU.

He has also at various times been Research Engineer, Research Scientist, and specialist to various Universities in Germany, the USA, and NASA.

He has now brought all this technical know-how and experience to play in the affairs of Fortschritt. He serves as Chairman of the board, as well as technical adviser, consultant, and business development adviser. He’s also the President of Phinx Associates, our independent US representative company. Phinx handles all our US activities, sourcing of products and technical assistance.

He holds a BSc (1st Class honors) and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Imperial College, University of London, and has several other professional qualifications and awards. He’s a registered member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) and COREN.

 Tayo Demuren – Managing Director

Mr. Demuren is a Systems Engineer with extensive experience, having worked in several countries including Ghana and the Republic of Benin. He has over twenty-five (30) years of working and relevant experience in the computer industry with a strong emphasis on Systems Integration and Maintenance, Server integration and configuration, Network installation, and maintenance.

He is highly experienced in the installation and configuration of Windows and Linux-based Servers. He has been an HP/Compaq Accredited Systems Engineer (ASE) from as far back as 1997, specialising in deploying servers in the Windows environments, and still maintains the said accreditation on the HP track. He also holds Microsoft MCP certification.

He has attended several hardware-specific courses including those by IBM, HP Microsoft, and ALR.

As Engineering Manager in Tara Systems Limited, Mr. Demuren was for four years responsible for the installation and maintenance of several Local Area Networks, Wide Area Networks, SCO Unix networks, and computer installations all over the country including those in Volta River Authority in Ghana and BIBE in Cotonou.

The networks involved IBM Server series, Compaq Systempro servers, ALR Powerpro servers, NCR tower, and a mix of IBM, ALR, HP workstations, and printers.

He also has a very good working knowledge of several software platforms including ORACLE RDBMS, SCO UNIX, MS Access, and FoxPro

Mr. Demuren holds a B.Sc. Hon. Degree in Electronic and Electrical Engineering from the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University). He is also an alumnus of the Lagos Business School (LBS).

 Aliu Olanrewaju –D.G.M, Engineering

Mr. Olanrewaju is an Electronics Engineer with an in-depth knowledge of Networks and Systems Engineering. He has vast experience in Hardware Maintenance of systems used in Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), SCO UNIX, and ORACLE environments.   

As a Systems Engineer/ Engineering Manager for Tara Systems Limited, Mr. Aliu was responsible for the installation of all Hardware used in Local Area Networks and ORACLE installations for Tara. He was also in charge of many Maintenance Contracts being handled for their various clients including Associated Discount House.

As Engineering Manager, he is in charge of the day-to-day administration of all Maintenance contracts, as well as integration and support services. He also manages the technical/repair workshop.

Mr. Olanrewaju is a consummate professional, with over twelve years of industry experience. He holds a B.Sc. Degree in Electrical Engineering (University of Ibadan), as well as a Masters in Business Administration (MBA – Delta State University). He is both HP (APS), and Cisco (CCNA) certified.

Funke Soremekun – A.G.M, Customer Relations, Sales & Marketing

Mrs. Funke Soremekun is a seasoned marketing professional with over thirteen (22) years of experience in the industry.

As the head of marketing, she oversees the affairs of all other marketers and their different accounts and makes sure that clients are given prompt responses to prevent downtime as much as possible; and generally makes sure that all clients are happy and satisfied at all times.

She is also involved in sorting out warranty issues for clients and makes sure that all benefits are awarded to the clients accordingly.

Mrs. Soremekun is a marketer with a difference who has listening ears and manages all her clients with passion and sincerity thereby maintaining their loyalty. You can always count and call on her. She holds a B.Sc. degree in microbiology (the University of Ife, now Obafemi Awolowo University) as well as a post-graduate diploma in management studies with a specialty in marketing. She is also an HP Accredited Sales professional (ISS and IPG).

Rufus Ajeigbe-Senior Manager, Account & Admin.

Mr. Rufus Ajeigbe is a seasoned Accountant with over ten years of working experience. He holds a BSc degree in Accounting (University of Lagos). An Associate Member of The Chartered Institute of Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and An Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN).

Lanre Shodipo – Systems/Software Engineer

An Electronics and Computer Engineering (B.Eng.) graduate of Lagos State University, he specialises in Networking, Server, and Software support, with over 8 year’s industry experience.

Mr. Sodipo’s expertise spans a broad range of platforms and technologies. He is well versed with the full range of Windows operating systems, with a strong emphasis on the Windows Server 2003/2008 technologies. He has also worked with LINUX (Redhat, Mandrake, Suse), IBM AIX, and QNX, amongst others. He is our Symantec specialist, and is our point man in the implementation of Symantec security solutions, spanning anti-virus, firewall, VPN, and security gateway products. He also supports several of our customer networks. He is also responsible for appraising new technologies and how they may be leveraged for our clients

He holds both MCSE and CCNA certifications.

Abiodun Adesina – Systems/Network Support Engineer

Is an HP Accredited Platform Specialist (APS), specialising in building HP racks and HP Server support? His other responsibilities include network cabling installation, systems setup, installation, and maintenance. He has worked as the primary resource person on several of our networking projects, as well as being outsourced to several client sites as an onsite engineer.

Oloruntola Olaitan – Assistant Manager (Engineering)

Also an HP Accredited Platform Specialist (APS). He is responsible for system maintenance, troubleshooting of systems, ups, and printers. He is in charge of the workshop.

Jinadu Babatunde – Site engineer

Mr. Odunayo holds a B. Sc in electrical electronics engineering from the University of Ibadan, he is one of the site’s engineers who manages and oversees maintenance sites. He holds CCNA and MCP certifications.

He is currently our Site Engineer at Stanbic IBTC Pension Managers Ltd.
